Mixed and Mastered

Just back from Sweden where the new album has been mixed and mastered. We spent four days in an amazing studio in the middle of the Swedish Countryside near Sjobo (about 40 minutes drive from Lund) mixing and then up to Stockholm to master. So thats it, all done, and it sounds incredible. We're very, very happy with it.

The Studio was great, we've never seen so many amazing classic amps, guitars and recording gear. We stayed in a house which was a short drive away, and were given use of an old Volvo to get to and from the studio, and to get to the nearest shops (about 30km away). Kenny and I got to drive it, and its the first time i've ever driven outside of the UK, so it was interesting getting used to driving on the right side of the road. The Volvo was an old 740, and its seen better days, a lot of things didn't work, like the petrol guage and the lights. On the first night whilst going round a corner onto the dirt track to the studio, the back passenger door fell open of its own accord, and Tracy had to grab it quick to try and shut it without falling out. The door closed OK, but Tracy ended up with the handle falling off the door in her hand and trying to fit it back on without the door opening again.

So, we're back in the UK and getting organised for the next few months. Some good shows being lined up. We're supporting Teenage Fanclub in Glasgow, at the ABC on 25th November. Tickets are £15 and are available from Ticketweb on 0870 4000 818.

We're also playing a show with Karine Polwart for Celtic Connections on January 21st at the Garage, Glasgow

Sounds like a great adventure. Looking forward to hearing the new album. And you're playing with Teenage Fanclub! You get to support that lovely manager of yours. Maybe he could support you too if you tour ... and come to Bristol. Orynthia x
